Shake off those winter blahs with a tabasco-flavored two-step, waltz, and stomp! I’ll be teaching three classic Cajun dance hall tunes: Bosco Stomp, Valse des Balfas, and Mamou Two-Step. The waltz and stomp are songs–you’ll get song sheets with lyrics (including phonetic pronunciation) and we will learn both the song and the tune for each of these. We’ll snack on some Cajun delicacies, wash ‘em down with something tasty, and, if time allows, throw in a little jamming.
Tunes and songs will be taught by ear. I will be playing tunes on the fiddle, but mandolin, accordion (button and piano) and banjo are also welcome, as are guitarists interested in learning back-up chords for these Cajun classics. Want to participate, but don’t see your instrument? Call me and ask! Lyrics and recordings will be posted to a class website.

INSTRUMENTS: fiddle, mandolin, banjo, button accordion, piano accordion, guitar, or singer
PLAYING LEVEL: intermediate players: If you can play or back up a dozen simple tunes at dance speed and can learn by ear, this class is for you!
